Since its inception in 2005, the KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology (GSCT) has been at the forefront of conducting multidisciplinary research and education. Our mission is to catalyze the development of culture and the arts, elevating the overall quality of human life. Our vision is to harness the power of science and technology to generate global value within the cultural industry.

One of the hallmarks of the KAIST GSCT is its remarkable diversity. Our faculty and students hail from a wide spectrum of disciplines, including science and technology, art and design, humanities, and social sciences. This vibrant mix fosters dynamic interactions, driving collaborative research and education aimed at innovating and cultivating new cultures. Through this interdisciplinary approach, our students gain a profound understanding of human nature, equipping them to tackle challenges from a holistic perspective and devise fundamental solutions.

The KAIST GSCT is experiencing rapid growth. By the close of 2022, our annual research project funding surpassed 10 billion won, and the collective impact factor of our academic publications doubled compared to 2020. These achievements underscore the excellence of our graduate school and underscore the rising industrial and academic significance of our research domains.

The recent rapid advancements in artificial intelligence technology have ushered in a transformative era for the cultural industry. AI is poised to become an invaluable ally in the creation of culture and art, as well as a guide for enriching one's quality of life. It promises to help individuals attain their cultural and spiritual self-fulfillment while reshaping the entire cultural landscape.
