  • Vision and Goals

    The vision of KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology is to create global value in the culture industry based on science and technology.

    The culture industry is an industry related to creative work in the field of culture and arts. More broadly, it encompasses industries that improve the quality of human life. Because the culture industry is a high-value-added industry and has a significant impact on national status, many countries are putting a lot of effort into nurturing and developing the culture industry. Currently, Korea's culture industry is leading global trends, including video, music, and games.

    In order to create global value in the culture industry, KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology seeks to cultivate convergent global talent that combines arts, humanities, and social sciences based on cutting-edge science and technology and cultural thinking, and to present source technologies that lead the culture industry.

  • Establishment Background and Major History

    KAIST Graduate School of Culture Technology was established in 2005 with the support of the Ministry of Culture & Tourism in order to promote exchanges between various academic fields such as science and technology, humanities, art, and design, and to nurture the domestic culture industry into an internationally competitive future national key industry.
