Professor Seung Hyun Cha received his Ph.D. in Architecture at Cambridge University and led the Immersive Virtual Environment Lab at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and Smart Space Design Lab at the Hanyang University. He carried out many domestic and foreign research projects including joint overseas projects. Under the core research themes of 'Sensing city' and 'Virtual world', the above projects address research topics from a behavioral study of the microscopic object (human) to the higher macroscopic perspective of 'building' and 'city'. Currently, he is leading the Future Space Lab (FSL) at the Graduate School of Culture and Technology at KAIST. The FSL aims to predict and measure continuously changing urban spaces and human life patterns by using various technologies such as the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence (AI), and virtual reality (VR) to create a human-centered and data-driven intelligent city. Prof. Seung Hyun Cha has published more than 30 international journal papers and 20 domestic and international conference papers, including many papers within the top 5% of JCR (SCI/SSCI/SCIE/A&HCI). He currently serves as the Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal of KIBIM and as a guest editor and reviewer for numerous international journals.
