But this year's APEC summit wasn't just about trade. 
For the first time, AI and demographic strategy were elevated as core agenda items—marking a clear shift where technology is now shaping diplomacy itself. 
So what's behind Korea's push for AI leadership, and how far can its initiative go?

For a deeper discussion on this, we're joined in the studio by Park Juyong, Professor at the Graduate School of Culture Technology at KAIST. Thank you for joining us. 

1.    Let's begin with AI cooperation. 
South Korea, as the chair of this year's APEC, has made AI collaboration a central issue. 
What's the reasoning behind this decision, and why is it significant? How could this boost cooperation among member states?

2.    President Lee Jae Myung proposed an 'AI Initiative' at the summit. How would you assess this initiative? 
And how does it differ from other international discussions?

3.    Still, there are real challenges. There are still wide gaps in technology and regulation among member countries. 
What are the major policy challenges APEC economies need to jointly address for a successful AI transition?
